CHF Announces $201,790 in Grants to Ten Local Nonprofit Organizations
Awards made from Chuckanut Health Foundation’s October 1st, 2017 grant cycle mean thousands of people in Whatcom County will benefit from needed services through these local partner organizations.
Animals as Natural Therapy: $9,200 to assist in purchasing a van for their MOBILE project
Medical Terms International: $10,000 to support funding eight mobile dental clinics in rural Whatcom County
Shriners Hospitals: $5,000 to support their Bellingham Outreach clinic. Whatcom Community Foundation and Washington Federal Bank each are also investing $5,000. To learn more read Whatcom Community Foundation’s blog post Local partnership brings Shriners Outreach Clinic to Whatcom County Families.
Rebound of Whatcom County: $20,000 to expand the Nooksack Valley Roots Family Enrichment Programs
Lydia Place: $18,000 to expand parenting services, including launching their clinical mental health program
Health Ministries Network: $20,000 to support their work with local congregations on care transitions and palliative care.
Whatcom Alliance for Health Advancement: $10,000 to further the Advanced Care Planning program.
Whatcom Rowing Association: $1,500 as a matching fund
Our Treehouse: $3,000 as a matching fund
Kornerstone Kids: $70,000 to expand their capacity and support additional providers
Whatcom Alliance for Health Advancement: $35,000 to support their Community Health Worker program
In 2017, Chuckanut Health Foundation awarded over $450,000 to services and programs that improve the health and well being of our community.
